Yagmur Akyurek

Yagmur Akyurek is a poet from central Massachusetts. Her chapbook DONNA I LOVE YOU STEVE is out with No, Dear.

Her radio show It’s Casual, the first episode of which you can find on éist, explores the tensions and apertures of incorporating speech, conversation, and spoken word into song. She is interested in what casual talk can add to musical composition that singing can not, how the ordinary voice can be a material.

She also co-hosts the radio show tugtog, centered around folk soundscapes from the Philippines, on 8-Ball Radio.
