The Animal

The Animal is a Limerick-based collaborative project founded by Colombian producer Nicolás Rojas-Sanabria and Irish visual artist Hazel Gardner. The Animal draws from techno, experimental electronics, and drone, but it is also influenced by ambient, folk, field recordings and spoken word. The duo explores and find inspiration in nature: themes of flora and fauna are at the centre of their catalague. This same phylosophy is the root of their multidisclinary collective: ORKID. Their live performances are driven by Rojas-Sanabria’ modular patching and Gardner’s improvised spoken word accompained by real-time audioreactive visuals.
