Mick Barry

For the past four decades, politician and activist Mick Barry has done things his way - from being part of the Militant Tendency group that became the Socialist Party, to being one of the highest-profile critics of austerity and water charges during the recession as a Councillor, to being an outspoken critic of government during his time as a TD for Cork North-Central between 2016 and 2024.
Informing his approach to politics, and life in general, has been a keen and wide-ranging interest in music of all sorts, from growing up listening to glam rock, punk and new wave, to a life spent among counter-cultural figures in Ireland and further afield.
