Dave Moloney
Dave is a music fiend from Oola, Co. Limerick, and has been obsessed with music since he was very, very small, when his cousin’s cousin arrived back from New York with a bunch of East Coast hip-hop and early rave cassettes.
Secondary school weekend nights were filled with staying up all night recording music from John Power and Mr. Spring’s 2FM shows. It was the trance sound of the late 90s that became Dave’s biggest gateway into buying records and learning to mix them together, before moving into progressive house and house music more generally.
It was attending club nights in Limerick that proved the most influential however, particularly Cian Frawley’s backwardS parties, where Dave discovered that all of these other genres of music that he had been collecting for years (jazz/funk/soul) could also be played - and could make people dance!
Dave became a regular at the backwardS parties, before becoming a resident in 2015. Playing these parties were a huge influence in how he plays records today - just good music, regardless of genre.
Night Music is a reflection of these nights - dark rooms, deep sounds, and moments of euphoria.
