Sound Atlas #4 w/ Mattias Lodding

Since the mid 00s, Mattias Lodding has been trying to save his hometown Stockholm from dull dance music. He is bound to fail, but he stumbles across plenty of interesting records and tracks along the way.

Mattias is a resident at Malmö-based Retreat Radio with his show Mattias Looks Around (currently on hiatus), and he plays fairly regularly around Stockholm. From time to time he has travelled south for gigs in cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam and Paris.

As a disc jockey, he moves almost compulsively between genres and tempos. The common threads through his sets are his personal associations with the tracks and his ambition to tell musical stories. 

For his guest mix for the Sound Atlas series, Mattias’ main plan was to create a disco-oriented, optimistic audio trip. It also features a selection of wave curiosities, krauty pop, library tracks and airy synth.
