Ahead of Refugee Week, I spoke wonderful Cork women, The Rev. Abigail Sines and Dr Manizha Khan about their upcoming event, ‘Sanctuary Stories’.

Refugee Week, 16th to 22nd of June, is the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, resilience, and creativity of refugees. Each year, thousands of independently organised events take place globally.

This years theme is ‘Community as A SuperPower’ and these women embody that theme. We chat about their lives, community, healing, connection, kindness, overcoming challenges and we also chat about dentistry in Ireland.

As their contribution to Refugee Week, they are organising a unique event in Blarney on June 21th. ‘Sanctuary Stories’ We will be hearing four inspirational life stories from four inspirational human beings. There will be a craft table for kids and a tasty lunch and treats! Free of charge!
