Beetle, bramble, and blackbird

I had a lovely chat with John Murphy, a farmer in East Cork, for this month’s Éist radio show, with ssome music mixed in. John is one of a group of people who have come together to create the Our Farm project. This is a community farm that aims to work for the farmers, the community, and nature. It is based on a model of community based, sustainable farming coming out of the Netherlands called Herenboeren. It was truly wonderful to talk to John chat about this. He is so knowledgeable about farming, nature, and the challenges facing us all in a broken, unequal food system. He is also full of infectious enthusiasm about a better food future for all. Our Farm is looking for new members for 2026.
