Have you noticed that the music in Tesco is sounding a bit iffy lately? Has your 7am post-afters uber driver been blasting christian rock music that just does not sound right? Has your cousin been sending spotify links to weird alt right trad songs in the family group chat ? AI music is amongst us.

50% of uploads to some of the big streaming platforms are fully AI-generated tracks. AI music is estimated to make up about 1% of total music streams (thats litch the same as Bad Bunny!!?). But who is driving this and what are big streaming companies doing about it? If we want to be active listeners and music lovers, we neeeed understand what the hell is going on.
